William has been coming to The Pump for 6 years, the earliest memory of coming to The Pump for William was;

“I remember when I took part in a photography shoot and this was my very first interaction with The Pump and this hooked me in to carry on attending as I wanted to be involved in more activities The Pump had to offer”.

The Pump has given William many opportunities.

“The Pump has helped me by giving me an opportunity in getting involved in recording my music, when I first started I was intrigued by grime artists from Birmingham for example Sox and Devil man who were big in the scene at the time. This influenced me get involved in creating my own music and The Pump had the facilities for me to be able to construct my path towards grime. Not only music but The Pump has also helped William create and construct a presentable CV so he can gain employment. Due to the correct advice and guidance given by The Pump Staff I achieved a job for the City Council also known as Wates and my role is multi-trading which involves electric and plumbing, plastering to tiling or painting and decorating”.

“The Pump is a good place for socialising and enables the community to come together, and helps the youth stay away from the violence on the streets by keeping them off road. Giving young people job opportunities and qualifications so that they can gain transferable skills and apply this to everyday living”.
